Wanted to share with you guys.
I love shiny things, including stones.
*update* I've been able to identify most of the gems here!
2 Amethyst, 1 rough, 1 tumbled
2 Rose Quartz, 1 rough, 1 tumbled
2 Clear Quartz, 1 rough, 1 tumbled
1 Citrine, rough
2 Gold Tiger's Eye, tumbled
1 Red Tiger's Eye, tumbled
2 Turquoise, tumbled
1 Yellow Turquoise, tumbled
1 Snowflake Obsidian, tumbled
1 Green Aventurine, tumbled
1 Green Calcite, rough
2 Crackle Quartz (one pink, one blue. Crackle quartz is made by heat-treating clear quartz and then dying it. The heat makes nearly invisible cracks in the stone, until it is dyed. The dye only sticks to the cracks), tumbled.
Then there's my two blue ones that I don't know what they are. One is rough and shiny - almost metallic looking, but it's very brittle. Looks like it's got some other minerals in the sample too, but it's mostly blue. The other blue one is tumbled, and it looks like it has been dyed, but not like the crackle quartz. In some parts its a cloudy/clear looking (not as clear as quartz), and the cloudy bands of blue (dye?) are of varying opacity. So I don't know what it could be. None of the jewelers around here can identify tumbled or raw stones (some jewelers they are), so all my findings have been from internet research and gem identifying books.
